NBC News: Elon Musk was bullied by conservatives into showing 'What Is a Woman'

This Twitchy editor took advantage of The Daily Wire and Twitter screening Matt Walsh’s movie, “What Is a Woman,” for free. The movie was great. And as Twitchy reported, Elon Musk even said that every parent should watch it and made it his pinned tweet.

NBC News has picked up on the story and explains how Musk’s response to the “anti-trans” video sparked a day of chaos at Twitter. At least three holdovers from Twitter 1.0 (NBC News calls the Twitter loyalists) quit over the movie being shown.

MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan says Musk got “bullied and manipulated” by conservatives on Twitter into changing the rules about misgendering someone.

NBC News reports:

On Thursday, Twitter was roiled by an organized pressure campaign by conservative pundits seeking to promote a 95-minute anti-transgender video called “What Is A Woman?” Musk, who has staked out views hostile to transgender advocates, initially responded in ways that seemed to satisfy no one before he eventually relented and agreed to promote the video himself. The incident resulted in two high-level departures within 24 hours.

The episode was another window into Musk’s improvisational approach to rewriting Twitter’s rules.

The chief of Twitter’s trust and safety division, Ella Irwin, left the company that same day, after a tenure leading its efforts around content moderation. A second executive, A.J. Brown, whose job was to reassure advertisers that Twitter was a safe place for their brands, also decided to quit, The Wall Street Journal reported. A third person, a program manager who worked on brand safety, said on her Twitter profile that she was now “ex-Twitter.”

Buh-bye.

So Musk wasn’t going to show the movie because someone was misgendered, but then “conservative groups” bullied him into bending the rules and allowing it to be shown anyway.

Musk and The Daily Wire have probably been trying to coordinate this for a while; Musk wanted the film shown and so it was.

Are we supposed to feel bad for Musk because he was “bullied and manipulated”? There are no bigger bullies than progressives.
