This editor was too old for Transformers when they came out and hasn’t bothered to watch the movies, either. There’s a big movie release in June, called “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” but last November saw the debut of a cartoon called “Transformers: EarthSpark” which looks geared toward children. The writers for the show have decided to put the “trans” in Transformers by having a nonbinary Transformer exchange pronouns with a nonbinary child.

This is a thing, apparently. As we reported earlier, Netflix’s preschool series “Ridley Jones” featured a bison named Fred who came out as nonbinary to all of the other animals on the farm. Again, this is a preschool series.

This editor’s kids are both grown, thankfully. So now we have Disney, Paramount, Netflix, and Amazon all streaming kids’ shows where they come out as nonbinary to each other. And as we recently covered in a VIP post, they’re coming after “Bluey” for “fat-shaming.” Aren’t there any shows for boys and girls?
