Atlanta shooting suspect's mother says her son was on 'messed up medication'

As Twitchy reported earlier, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said it was “disgusting” that a Marine veteran who she says murdered a houseless man on the New York City subway was being protected by “passive headlines” like this one:

The New York Times seems to know that you don’t call someone a murderer until they’ve been charged with murder and proven guilty in court. You don’t even call him an “alleged murderer” until someone alleges it. But a member of Congress who knows no more about it than the Times does? Murder.

The reason we bring up AOC’s complaint about “passive headlines” is because there was a shooting at an Atlanta hospital Wednesday in which one person was killed and at least four injured. The alleged shooter’s mother says Deion Patterson was “messed up on medication.”

The New York Post reports:

Minyone Patterson – who is cooperating with police as they search for her son, Deion Patterson, 24 – appeared to blame his medication regimen for the shooting at Northside Hospital Medical Midtown Wednesday.

“The damn VA gave him some messed up medication, and all he wanted was an Ativan,” Minyone told The Daily Beast, referring to the medication used to treat seizure disorders such as epilepsy.

She did not elaborate further and hung up.

OK, then. This story can disappear.

Who will be held accountable for that death? The VA? The makers of Ativan? The gun?

Oh yeah, you do … it’s not principled but it’s pretty clear.
