We haven’t heard of Maya May, but she says in her bio she’s a comedian and also somehow connected with The Lincoln Project; we’ve read that she’s co-host of “We’re Speaking” on Lincoln Project TV (which we’ve also never heard of). In any case, she also fights fascism with a smile.
After Monday’s school shooting in Tennessee, May wanted to know how Republicans explain school shooting to their kids. This Republican would tell them that there are evil people out there and we have to keep an eye open for them.
How do Republicans explain school shootings to their kids? I really want to know.
— Maya May (@mayaonstage) March 27, 2023
Does she? Does she really?
No, you don't want to know. You just want to score political points from a tragedy.

Same as every other murder.
— The Duke of Northumberland (@Bagehot99) March 27, 2023
The same way Democrats do, presumably

“Bad people did a bad thing, they made the choice to murder”
— Peekaso (@peekaso) March 27, 2023
I'm a conservative. I explain to them that evil people do evil things. AND, I remind them that govt makes sure they're safe because of good guys there to defend them. I tell my kids, THEIR lives matter as much as the lives of the govt. So, the deserve protection too. Thoughts?

We explain to them that this is what happens when kids are mistreated by society, overlooked, neglected.
Then we tell them to be kind, to have each other’s backs and to speak encouragement.— Kitnlitl (@kitnlitl) March 27, 2023

I'd believe that if Republicans weren't trying to gut programs that teach empathy.
— Maya May (@mayaonstage) March 27, 2023
Yeah, we’re pretty sure she’s with The Lincoln Project.
I have experience here, mother of a parkland grad (sophomore at the time). Bad policies for disturbed kids plus gun-free zone was the recipe for that atrocity.
— Zotzer (@zotzer) March 27, 2023
How do Dems explain every single weekend in Chicago?
— Steve (@UberSteve) March 27, 2023
They don’t have to!
Probably the same way we explain that there are only 2 genders. And sick people like do do bad things.

I wonder why schools had actual gun clubs way back when and there were never school shootings. Guns have been around for centuries. Mass shooting is novel. Ignore this culture shift at your peril. Tough questions must be asked, answered and addressed.
— BETSYSEWGOOD (@betsysewgood) March 27, 2023
I would like some transparency from those who support gun control. Like admitting that you would back the use of deadly force by government agents to enforce bans.

A bad person with negligent parents did a bad thing.

Conservative parents say: this is what happens when nihilism is pushed to the fore and leaves people in despair. No God, no family, no structure, no morals.
For little kids, you don't expose them to evil as much as possible.

I'll bet your going to get 100s of replies, and gripe about a few before ignoring the rest.

Bingo!
We describe how decades of the doom-screaming, nihilist, relativist, amoral, personal-responsibility-negating and selfish Left has created a culture of alienated, violent, spoiled, mean-spirited potential murderers.
— Daniel Lee (@realdanlee) March 27, 2023
How do you explain taking money from Lincoln Project, whose founder preyed on teens and everybody tried to hide it?
— Duck (@balling_it) March 27, 2023
Not a Republican but evil has always existed throughout human history. To blame people that had nothing to do with this is disgusting & in no way deals with the root of the problem. We don’t even have all the facts so maybe don’t dance on the bodies of dead children.
— DelilahM (@delilahmused) March 27, 2023
You ask this question because you are determined to misunderstand/misrepresent what they think.
It's really simple. There are bad people and they do bad things. Protect those you love. Don't pretend disarming all of the non-criminals will magically also disarm all the criminals
— Sprezzatura (@Spretza_Tura) March 27, 2023
The same way we would most things in life. Bad people do bad things. Don’t be a bad person.
— Tjord Fergesen 🇺🇸 (@JankyMcstevens) March 27, 2023
Democrats believe in evil too, don’t they? That there are bad people who do bad things who aren’t Republicans?
