I believe I’m the oldest Twitchy editor. I don’t consider myself old, but my parents had me late in life and I grew up listening to Glenn Miller instead of The Beatles. My mother didn’t have many records, but she did have the first issue of “The Sound of Music” soundtrack on vinyl. I’m not a fan of musicals, but I’ve seen it — it would be almost impossible not to see it, seeing how often it was shown on broadcast TV.
Speaking of my age, I wonder how old the average BuzzFeed writer is. Especially after seeing this critique of “The Sound of Music” where the movie left out the emergence of Nazis in Austria:
Other than her boyfriend joining the Nazis, and the Nazis drafting the dad, and the Nazis showing up at their final performance, and the Nazis chasing them out of the country, and the Nazis taking over their entire country…
Other than that, sure, no Nazis.

So they went back and edited it, because people got upset, and it’s a teeny-tiny bit better.
(Moron wants to talk about the real history, but doesn’t know enough to include the word “Anschluss”.)

“Lightly edits with history” — what does that even mean?

Don't blame Buzzfeed. None of that was in the trailer.

Have they never seen the movie?
— Lilly Wilson (@RealLillyWilson) March 20, 2023
Maybe they didn’t actually watch the film?

Edelweiss was an act of defiance. An anti-war song…. AGAINST THE NAZIS. How is Buzzfeed still a thing?

Every day I thank God that these will be the people to contend with when they finally push society over the edge.
Gonna be a real short drop.

Fun fact: They filmed on location, and the town wasn't going to let them put up any Nazi flags for the shoot. They said "That's ok. We'll just use newsreel footage of you welcoming the Nazis with a parade from when it actually happened."

There's literally a scene where he rips the flag in half.

The Anschluss is literally the antagonist of the second half of the movie.

How is this real?

It’s not real … it’s BuzzFeed.
