If you’re the one who shops for groceries you probably know that egg prices are through the roof. We’re still waiting for the Inflation Reduction Act to kick in and bring food prices back down.
Following President Biden’s lead, Robert Reich is blaming “corporate greed” and Big Egg for why prices are so high ever since Biden took office.
Egg prices are up 60%. That’s absurd. People are paying up upwards of $6 and $7 for a dozen eggs.
Why? Corporate greed.
Cal-Maine, the largest egg producer in the US, is raking record profits — $198 million in its latest quarter.
That’s a 65% increase from a year ago.

Hey, Bob.
Why weren't they greedy last year?
— Walter Hudson (@WalterHudson) January 21, 2023
I’ve noticed for Bob, that “corporate greed” explains everything. And giving people like Bob more power fixes everything.

So, egg producers were somehow less greedy a year ago and suddenly became greedy?
That makes no sense at all, and you know it.

Crazy how companies and universities randomly decide to get greedy. Is there a list somewhere where we can just see who's next? Would save everyone a lot of time, not to mention make the study of economics moot. It's all just corporate greed, after all.

Or supply and demand. Avian flu and all…

The avian flu causes corporate greed? pic.twitter.com/TmjGVfXghp

You clearly don’t know anything about how the market works. Extremely low supply due to global supply issues (feed prices, bird flu wiping out birds, etc.) coupled with an unusually high demand got prices where they are, and Walmart has more to do with pricing than Cal-Maine.

Supply and Demand. You’re almost there. I suggest a basic economics course to get you over the hump.

I purchase eggs from a local farmer who told me he’d be charging more because his feed, electricity and fuel costs were increasing. So, guess who is paying more for eggs?
— Not Your Safe Space (@xshitmymomsaysx) January 21, 2023
Um, it’s not corporate greed moron

You’re exhausting.
— Bishop 🦄 (@BishopFromArk) January 21, 2023
So egg farmers all across the country got together and decided to get greedy and double the price of eggs? That’s your analysis of the situation?
— Righteous⚡️Crusader (@Craftmastah) January 21, 2023
We’re pretty sure this is part of “Putin’s price hike” and has something to do with Ukraine.
