Rep. Adam Schiff's office had some demands for Twitter following 'harassment from QAnon conspiracists'

As Twitchy has reported, there have been two dumps of Twitter files from Matt Taibbi Tuesday evening, both showing the intelligence community (and just about every other agency) pressuring Twitter to root out Russian disinformation accounts. Senator Mark Warner of Virginia held an immediate press conference after the release of Twitter’s report on Russian-connected accounts to denounce it as “frankly inadequate on every level.” And that’s how it went: if Twitter didn’t deliver the results legislators wanted, they’d run to the cameras and denounce Twitter for not doing enough.

In the second batch of Twitter files, Rep. Adam Schiff’s office makes an appearance. But before getting to that, here’s a flashback tweet to December:

Schiff’s hypocrisy is absolute, seeing how he specifically asked for journalist Paul Sperry to be suspended.

One email in Taibbi’s second thread shows Schiff’s office making some demands on Twitter after the alleged harassment of a staffer by QAnon conspiracists: Remove any and all content; Suspend the many accounts promoting false QAnon theories; Suppress any and all search results; Label and reduce the visibility of content that Twitter does not remove. “No, we don’t do this” was the reply.

We didn’t think our opinion of Schiff could be any lower, but the guy manages it every time. Good for Twitter 1.0 for letting him know “we don’t do this.”
