The Germans are trying to get Oilfield Rando kicked off of Twitter and failing

This isn’t the first of these we’ve seen, but we thought in light of Twitter 2.0, we’d feature this one. Apparently, German law requires Twitter to provide notice to users who have been reported by people from Germany, so if you’re ever reported by someone from Germany, Twitter sends you a notice of your offensive tweets.

Here’s Twitchy favorite @Oilfield_Rando showing off a couple of tweets that made the Germans mad — something about calling them cowards.

Here’s the note in full:

Twitter has investigated and found the tweets aren’t subject to removal under German law. Well isn’t that special?

They’re not big on “misgendering” either:

So every Karen in Germany gets the government to inform you of their displeasure with a tweet? Credit to Twitter for doing the right thing here and keeping the tweets up.
