Election denier Jamie Raskin says the Electoral College is a danger to the American people

Oh man, Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney are out of here pretty soon, but we’re still stuck with election denier Rep. Jamie Raskin. Raskin objected to the certification of Donald Trump’s victory in 2016 on the basis that he was installed by Russia — but this was before 2020 when the phrase “election denier” wasn’t thrown around every single day. The January 6 select committee member now has his sights set on the Electoral College, which will probably be his reason for objecting to Ron DeSantis’ victory being certified in 2024.

What an incredible loser. CNN reports:

“The framers [of the Constitution] were great, and they were patriots, but they didn’t have the benefit of the experience that we have lived, and we know that the Electoral College doesn’t fit anymore,” Raskin said.

“There’s very dangerous rhetoric going on out there that’s a real break from everything we’ve known in our lifetimes,” he said.

“What it means to live in a democracy with basic civic respect is that people can disagree without resorting to violence. But the internet has played a negative role, especially for the right wing, the extreme right, which now engages in very dangerous hyperbolic rhetoric that exposes people to danger.”

The Constitution’s great and we’ve pledged to uphold it, but the Electoral College needs to go, and we should get rid of the Senate while we’re at it.

Why not both?

You work to be elected into government so you can try to subvert it from the inside — it’s pretty obvious what he’s doing. “The Constitution is great and all, but ….” And stop saying democracy is in “danger.”
