This editor was going to do a post on this Monday night, but he couldn’t find the tweets in the screenshots to verify them. Well, the reason is that the Sussex Police in the U.K. apparently deleted them. What did the Sussex Police do? They chewed out a random woman on Twitter for calling a convicted child rapist a man. “Hi,” they replied, “Sussex Police do not tolerate any hateful comments towards their gender identity regardless of crimes committed. This is irrelevant to the crime that has been committed and investigated.”
You do have to be careful about misgendering in the U.K. — they will throw you in jail.
Thank you @sussex_police for protecting this child rapist from the trauma of being misgendered. ✊ pic.twitter.com/xRzUqGr3fA

Sussex Police released a statement saying their now-deleted tweets were "inconsistent" with their usual style of engagement. https://t.co/CiXC84z8Wu

“We recognize the rights of the public to express themselves freely within the boundaries of the law,” they say. We’d say gender is important here as the criminal was living as a man when he committed sexual assault against seven children.
This kind of thing is why I withdrew my application to join the police.

They don't tolerate hateful comments towards gender identity? Give me a break 🤦 Sussex Police: "Let's make sure this child predator doesn't get their feelings hurt by harmful words!"

I sleep safer at night knowing our police finally have their priorities in order.

His victims know he’s a man even if the police don’t.

Right as ever @TitaniaMcGrath – right to the heart of the matter. Nothing can be worse than misgendering.

Reportedly, Sally Anne Dixon was sentenced to 20 years … in a women’s prison.
this is top-notch police work. bravo, @sussex_police ! to close the loop here, those guilty of wrong-speak need to be arrested and re-educated.

I'm sure Sussex Police have been on courses to teach them the importance of protecting paedophiles from the trauma of being misgendered or deadnamed. I must find ways to reduce my tax burden as I no longer wish to fund these courses or those who attend.

They sure don’t mind throwing women under the bus by categorizing this under female crimes. How patriarchal of them.

Irrelevant to the crimes? I'd say it's a contributing factor there, detectives.

We’re glad the Sussex Police had the sense to take down their idiotic tweet scolding random people for tweeting, “This is a man.” We wonder who runs the Twitter account for them and decided this was a priority.
