What seems to have got the original poster upset is that conservatives always throw around “barista” as a lazy, slacker job. That’s not true: We’d be happy if more gender studies majors went to work as baristas and earned an honest day’s pay. Doesn’t Starbucks even cover college tuition? We thought it was the most woke of places to work. And yet conservatives have been challenged to do a three-hour shift on a hot day.
I love how “barista” is the job conservatives bring up as a lazy slacker job when one shift at a moderately busy Starbucks would have them crouched between stacks of milk crates sobbing in the back room

Imagine spending hours on your feet making four different drinks at once while being glared at by unemployed Boy Moms “running late” for their daily zombie walks around Target

Lots of people correctly pointing out that Starbucks employees’ unionization efforts and the feminized context of the word “barista” has a lot to do with the conservative disdain for this job, and with labor at large, etc.

That original tweet now has more than 333,000 likes.
This has 187k likes lol. We are a nation of soft-handed, weak-willed pussies. Making coffee drinks is not hard work and it’s alarming that this many people believe that it is. https://t.co/ShmzbfRUE6

I counted at least a dozen times on this video where one small mess up could cost a limb or finger.
But baristas have it tough, you guys. https://t.co/V9dwrX77D6

This editor’s uncle died on an oil rig.
Emma is complaining about working in an air conditioned shop with a thermostat for 3 hours.
I used to do Heavy Duty Road-Side assistance and rescue. un Chicago. 110 degrees 90 humidity and I am under a hot tractor trying to replace a blown oil filter. Tell me again about coffee

Same but farther north. I always thought the winter calls were worse though. Salt and snow packed everywhere…..hands so cold you can't tell if you dropped the bolts/wrench.

I'm betting these guys don't have a sociology or gender studies degree.

I don't see any diversity, equity or inclusion in this video. Another thing I don't see in this video is climate alarmists giving up all of life's petroleum-based luxuries. I digress.

She should spend a day laying asphalt. I'm sure being a barista isn't fun. That's why they pay you to do it. If you think it's the hardest, most stressful job ever, you need to talk to more people instead of sneering about customers.

Apparently hundreds of people who all have worked as Starbucks baristas agree and are sharing their trauma in the replies (which are now limited).
