The Federalist: Ex-CIA chief who called Republicans the most dangerous extremists sits on lefty misinformation group

As Twitchy reported, #NeverTrumper David French seems to see two Republican Parties: there are the ones like Gov. Ron DeSantis cozying up to MAGA, and there are the moderate alternatives, like ex-Vice President Mike Pence, who stuck up for the FBI Wednesday. The MAGA wing of the party isn’t just dangerous; according to ex-CIA Director Gen. Michael Hayden, it’s the most dangerous political force out there by a wide margin:

Killed? Maybe not. But imprisoned? We can see that. Look at how much effort the government has put into tracking down every grandmother who took a selfie inside the Capitol on January 6.

Back in January, Randi Weingarten shared how excited she was that her union was partnering with something called NewsGuard to help students identify “misinformation.”

Guess who sits on the board of NewsGuard … Gen. Michael Hayden. Tristan Justice reports for The Federalist:

Hayden, who just more than a decade ago was authorizing drone strikes to gun down violent extremists, is currently on the advisory board of a left-wing misinformation group that brands itself as a disinformation watchdog.

NewsGuard is a popular pro-censorship browser extension that’s being deployed in schools to indoctrinate students on acceptable news sources.

Hayden was also among the more than 50 former intelligence officials who signed a joint letter published with Politico to dismiss the Hunter Biden laptop as Russian disinformation in October 2020 despite early confirmation of the computer’s legitimacy. Even after Politico conceded the laptop’s authenticity 11 months later, Hayden doubled down on the false claim that its contents are instruments of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Thank goodness we were shielded from that Russian disinformation before the 2020 election.

These people always manage to find news gigs no matter how badly they failed in their former careers.
