We had no idea a speech from Mike Pence could blow up like the one he gave in New Hampshire Wednesday morning. Pence declared that “calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police.” The calls, naturally, come after the FBI raided Donald Trump’s home last week and the Justice Department is fighting the release of the affidavit revealing exactly what it is they were looking for. David French saw the New York Times story on Pence and decided he’d be a great alternative in 2024 to someone tainted by MAGA like Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Naturally, President Joe Biden agrees with Pence that calls to defund the FBI should be condemned.

The White House is strongly condemning calls from some members of the Republican Party, including some elected lawmakers, to “defund the FBI” in the wake of last week’s search of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
The pushback marks the White House’s most aggressive response to the FBI’s search to date and comes as other Republicans, including former Vice President Mike Pence, are sounding alarms on this message amid heightened threats to law enforcement.
“Just like President Biden rejects defunding the police, he rejects defunding other law enforcement, including the FBI,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement exclusively to CNN Wednesday.
