T. Becket Adams brought this to our timeline. We’d missed it on Independence Day, but it’s just as crappy today as it was then. As Adams said, he was shocked to find that this wasn’t some Twitter rando … Amanda Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate. Google says she’s a poet and activist whose focus is “issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora.” She also read one of her poems at Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony, making her the youngest person ever to do so.
Well, she’s living in Biden’s America, but she doesn’t seem happy about it:
i saw this and assumed it was a shitposter jokingly doing a drunk version of the national anthem as if OP doesn’t actually know the lyrics and is faking his way through it.
then I realized it’s in earnest *and* by America’s supposed poet laureate.
and that’s waaaaay funnier. pic.twitter.com/XdGlZJmxUb

Here it is:
O say can we see, by the Gone’s early flight,
What so loudly we failed at the mornlight’s past gleaming,
Whose flawed stripes and strifed scars, through the perilous plight,
Our wan hearts, we watched, stirred and valiantly screaming. (1/2)— Amanda Gorman (@TheAmandaGorman) July 5, 2022
(2/2) And the rifle’s dread glare, bullets bursting in air,
Gave truth in our sight that our flag was not spared.
O say does that scar-mangled banner yet save
Our land of the free and the home of the brave?— Amanda Gorman (@TheAmandaGorman) July 5, 2022
The Democrats are in charge … talk to them if you have complaints.

And yet her abortion poem was still somehow worse. It’s all quite painful.

That's our poet laureate? I've read drunken, ribald limericks that were of higher quality

Apparently becoming a poet laureate is about as hard as becoming a priest online.

"Valiantly screaming". There's a big tell. Lefties think screaming is valor.

Further proof the left live in an alternate reality psychosis.
Mental illness that is fostered and encouraged rather than properly treated.

At some point, surely the American public will grow tired of hearing the contestants of the Victimhood Olympics reach ever expanding depths of stupidity and will ignore them until they shrivel up and blow away. One can only hope.

We suppose the poem’s awfulness is a testament that nothing will ever make liberals happy.
