We just finished a post on George Conway saying that decades from now, people will be asking each other where they were when Cassidy Hutchinson testified before the January 6 committee. In one of the more sensational moments, Hutchinson, who wasn’t in “the Beast” when this happened, said she heard that President Donald Trump grabbed a Secret Service agent and lunged for the steering wheel to turn the car back to the Capitol Building.
Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson testifies that she heard Donald Trump wanted to go to the Capitol so badly on 1/6 that he lunged to grab the steering wheel of the Beast and then put his hands on a Secret Service agent when they took him back to the White House. pic.twitter.com/NrTcxjn5oL

He. Physically. Attacked. A. Secret. Service. Agent.

Trump wasn’t in “the Beast,” though; he was in an SUV. And sources tell NBC News that both the Secret Service agent, Robert Engel, and the driver of the presidential SUV are prepared to testify that Trump never assaulted them or lunged for the wheel.
🚨 A source close to the Secret Service tells me both Bobby Engel, the lead agent, and the presidential limousine/SUV driver are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel.

US Secret Service statement:
“U.S. Secret Service has been cooperating with the Select Committee since its inception in spring 2021, and will continue to do so, including by responding on the record to the Committee regarding the new allegations surfaced in today’s testimony."

Then why is she, who wasn’t in the vehicle, giving that testimony and not them?
— Freedom Recon (@FreedomRecon) June 28, 2022
Not surprising. Because it makes no sense. Obviously the president is not sitting in the passenger seat. He’s always driven in the back of the vehicle.

They have already testified.

Brave man. He might get Hillary'ed for standing up against them.

So no one in the responses believes Alexander’s unnamed source, but they do believe a woman who wasn’t in the vehicle.

Update:
Here’s another:
New: Source close to the Secret Service tells @PierreTABC to expect the Secret Service to push back against any allegation of an assault against an agent or President Trump reaching for the steering wheel.

Now Hutchinson’s lawyer says his client merely repeated what she had been TOLD—regardless of whether the things she described were in fact true! #January6thHearings https://t.co/R5So0BpyXK
