Sorry that today has been sort of a drag-intensive day — we certainly didn’t set out to make it that way. But then the Miami Herald editorial board, still sore over the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, decided to go all-in on drag shows for kids. Republicans are all for parental choice, right? Then they should support parents who choose to take their young children to “family-friendly” drag shows. Otherwise, they’re hypocrites.
As we said then, if that’s the hill progressives want to die on, fine by us.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams is all-in as well and sang the praises of drag storytellers and the schools that support them. After all, they’re advancing literacy, right?
Drag storytellers, and the libraries and schools that support them, are advancing a love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy that is core to what our city embraces.

That personal expression is “what America is all about,” according to Speaker Nancy Pelosi on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
At a time when our LGBTQ+ communities are under increased attack across this country, we must use our education system to educate. The goal is not only for our children to be academically smart, but also emotionally intelligent.

Under increased attack? Under increased coddling is more like it.

This is definitely the winning message Americans from all walks of life support and you should amplify it hourly.

How about more math and science. Let ‘em figure out what drag stuff is about when they actually graduate.

So may I ask why this obsession with drag storytellers? Why not goth storytellers, or people with unusual jobs, or mimes, or kabuki? Why drag. This level of obsession is hard to miss. Please explain.

The Democrats are getting more and more comfortable with this kind of talk.

I’ve probably been to over a 100 drag shows. In bars. Late at night. Great times. I am a fan and friend to drag queens. They are hilarious, bawdy, and subversive people. Cool. I just don’t get this.

You can't possibly be this out of touch. The vast majority of parents are not in favor of this. A myriad of ways to teach tolerance, this isn't one of them. Enjoy your short stay.

I'm gay and a parent, it's just not appropriate nor representative of gay people. It should NOT be tax funded or in public schools against parents wishes

Yes. Please keep going with this. Preferably through the fall of 2024

No wonder everyone from NYC is moving to Florida

A lamentable state of affairs. The cultural divide between the people that want this and the rest of us who haven’t yet gone completely insane is absolutely irreconcilable.

You’ve got to be joking.

We’re pretty sure he tweeted this on purpose.
