There was a good meme going around yesterday about how you can’t have an opinion on abortion if you don’t have a uterus; also, you don’t have to have a uterus to be a woman. California Gov. Gavin Newsom tried using the line that if men could get pregnant, abortion would be fully legal, no question about it. We’ve been assured recently, by sources like the governor’s website, that men can get pregnant. We even have an emoji of a pregnant man now. This language is transphobic and frankly, we’re offended.
If men could get pregnant, this wouldn’t even be a conversation.
This decision isn’t about strengthening families – it’s about extremism. It’s about control.
