We’re pretty certain that liberal Hollywood will hold Alec Baldwin blameless for firing the gun that killed a cinematographer. In an interview, his brother Daniel said that Alec is being made a scapegoat because of his “staunch” political views. We suppose if he were our brother we’d be making excuses like that too.

…and his trigger finger

The New York Post reports that the eldest Baldwin brother told “The Domenick Nati Show”:
“So let’s go ahead and take Alec for his political views and the many, many wonderful things that he’s done … and let’s see if we can’t sensationalize this and go after Alec,” he moaned.
“Because he’s opinionated and he’s strong-headed and he has really staunch views on certain things.
…
Asked directly if he was “saying that Alec is being attacked because of what his political views are,” Daniel insisted, “Oh, for sure he is, yeah. Yeah, for sure.”
But asked what political views he was referring to, Daniel snapped, “Let’s not talk about that, bro. Let’s not talk about that.”
So Alec Baldwin is being “attacked.” By whom?
Political views have nothing to do with the guy responsible for running the set being an idiot and not checking a gun before pointing it at people with his finger on the trigger. Baldwin needs to stop passing the buck. https://t.co/IbM9aiGiw5

Or. . . maybe. . . because he pulled the trigger?

I think it definitely has more to do with how he caused someone's death through severe negligence.

The pointing of the weapon and pulling of the trigger aren't factors?
— Alaska2Texas (@AlaskaNorseman) November 16, 2021
Not only did he pull the trigger, he also is the producer.

You've absolutely got to be joking. If anything, because of his politics, he'd get a pass. Please.

You know, when you really think about the on-set shooting, Alec Baldwin was the real victim. #prayforbaldwin

Exactly.
And then the world remembered there was a Daniel Baldwin.
