Here’s a great catch by Jesse Singal. A few days ago, the ACLU posted a quote from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on abortion on the anniversary of her death.
With Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death, we lost a champion for abortion and gender equality. And on the anniversary of her death, the fight to protect abortion access is more urgent than ever. pic.twitter.com/vIKadIHouN

Did you catch that? They actually altered her words to make it more woke:
The ACLU fixed RBG's quote because it referenced women https://t.co/v94XK95NtH

The Notorious RBG is being “corrected” after her death.
The ACLU is editing RBG’s quote to be gender neutral. I’m not surprised, but in a sane world the ACLU would be blasted for its erasure of women in addition to the baby killing. https://t.co/JUtjFyTWaM

They made it double plus good

JFC this is appalling.

The ACLU wants to put forth RBG as a heroic figure they can use, but her prose is too right-wing for them so they need to bend it.

Ginsburg is too right-wing for the ACLU.
I cannot with these people

Holy shit.
This is so god damn depressing.

Good f'n lord they are the worst

Pathetic.

All the right had to do on feminism and gay rights was wait for the left to turn on itself and attack the very idea of the female sex.
— Ryan Shaw (@ThatShawGuy) September 22, 2021
“We’re not erasing women!” they say as they literally remove the word “women” from their vocabulary.
They really do go after the language first. It makes sense. And it is double speak too! All the semantic games like “Trans women are women” lead to something more and more nefarious until you are calling mother “birthing persons”. I don’t think society can sustain itself on this.

Using [ ] to paraphrase what someone said is one thing. Using it to edit someone’s words to fit an ideological agenda – especially when the original speaker is dead and can’t protest – is another. It’s despicable and disrespectful.

I had no idea RBG was so transphobic
— Anarchist Barbie (@AnarchistBarb1e) September 22, 2021
Why is ACLU quoting a transphobe?
— Boomieleaks (@Boomieleaks) September 22, 2021
How many non-female identifying but biologically female people get abortions in a given year? Imagine editing out certain pronouns and deconstructing every aspect of your language in order to placate constituency that numbers in the tens of people, at best.

They stopped being reputable years ago on women's issues.

Useless morons
— Tonkinese Cat Fancier (@winstane72) September 22, 2021
Unfortunately the ACLU has become a sad disgrace over the last few years.
Sad. Very sad.
— Hans im #HomoOffice (@hans_denkt) September 22, 2021
Seriously, changing her quote after she’s dead to make her not transphobic? That’s messed up.
