Watch Newsmax or OAN? CNN's Chris Cillizza is here to tell you exactly how dangerous they are to democracy

We know that CNN’s Brian Stelter is still obsessed with Fox News, and Chris Cillizza does make note of Fox in his piece, but his new targets are OAN and Newsmax, which have gained viewers, thanks in part to Fox News’s sketchy election night coverage.

Cillizza links to a poll we don’t believe. Four in 10 who watch right-wing news agree with the statement that “the government, media, and financial worlds in the US are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.” We wanted to check the PRRI poll concluding this, but the link in Cillizza’s piece is broken, so …

Cillizza concludes:

The rise of far-right channels like OAN and Newsmax has led to a massive amount of disinformation flowing through American democracy. While espousing this garbage is a business model for these channels, it has massive impacts on Americans — many of whom are living in a conspiracy theory that they have been tricked into thinking is the real world.

Conspiracy theories like the Wuhan lab leak theory that CNN had reported had been debunked? What kind of “massive impacts on Americans” are these channels having, exactly?
