We’ve seen a few polls come across our feeds, and the consensus seems to be that white Republican men are the most hesitant to get vaccinated against COVID-19. On CNN, Jake Tapper called on Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to reach out to white evangelical Christians who might be wary of the vaccine and tell them the vaccine might be part of God’s plan.
We missed this tweet over the weekend, but American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten weighed in and made it abundantly clear that the union sees Republicans as the “folks across the aisle.” And she’s afraid that the vaccine has been politicized, encouraging people to deny science and logic — like the science that teachers who’ve been vaccinated should be in the classrooms with their students. Even the CDC and Dr. Anthony Fauci agree on that.
The politicization of this virus continues to encourage people to deny science and logic, putting lives at risk. This is where we need folks across the aisle to help out. https://t.co/dOipVDDbqR

Do your union members have classroom hesitancy? I know a lot of parents looking to help with that one.

Ya got moxy, kid. I’ll give you that.

However did covid school closures become political and cause people to deny science? Could it be because of union campaign donations controlling politics… ? pic.twitter.com/Cer8xkLJrb

Where was the science and logic you were employing when you said teachers shouldn't go back to teaching after they were vaccinated? Also thank you for admitting you run a partisan organization.

She really did just come right out and say it.

Yeah, it became so politicized that teachers unions have been able to extort billions if dollars and many still refuse to go back to work until they get more.

thug unions like yours take money from your rank and file and shovel it to the @DNC every election and now think people believe you care what anyone but your personal bitch @JoeBiden says? pic.twitter.com/XnMQge1MOc

What would you say is the #1 obstacle to school re-openings?
— Arthur (@Go_Learn_It) April 25, 2021
Science? Put kids back in classrooms. There is little risk
— DennisDee (@DennisD35811908) April 25, 2021
The politicization of this virus continues to encourage people to do things like double mask while dining outside after getting vaccinated. This is where we need folks across the aisle to help out.

HOW ARE YOU A REAL PERSON?!?
— JRP (@JRPSD) April 25, 2021
If vaccinated teachers still aren’t safe, why should anyone else get the vaccine? Hmmm???
— R O B (@pursuingdavid) April 25, 2021
Good point — several states moved teachers to the front of the line in front of the elderly for vaccinations because they were considered essential workers, and yet they still won’t go back to the classroom … so does the vaccine work or not?
Your anti-science actions have brought immeasurable suffering and harm to millions of children. Shame on you!

You’re joking with this, right?
— DelawaRedad (@nellsdadd) April 25, 2021
Yes, and those people refuse to show up for work in person, though they're not at risk.

You’re getting absolutely ratio’d and rightfully so, ghoul.
— Dr. Griff, J.D., Esquire (@Gtyndall) April 25, 2021
Randi has used the virus to get her union members a year off from going into work, damaging a generation of children irreparably. But everyone else is the problem. https://t.co/Bfz1e2RvZk
— Derek Hunter (@derekahunter) April 26, 2021
Again, she admits that Republicans are across the aisle from the union, and apparently thinks the science says it’s not safe to return to the classroom, even with the vaccine, double masks, social distancing, and plexiglass barriers on each desk.
