There was a great piece in The Federalist Monday by Elle Reynolds about moving from locked-down South Carolina to the relatively wide-open Florida under the leadership of Gov. Ron DeSantis. “Since I’ve spent some time in Florida, life has felt incredibly normal,” Reynolds writes. “It’s also revealed how abnormal the lifestyle I followed in Virginia really was.”

She recalls slowing down in a school zone because kids were actually in school: “There were elementary school kids running around the playground for recess.”
Yahoo News correspondent Alexander Nazaryan thought he’d dunk on the piece with a take on all of those faces coming back to life.
I mean, except for the 20,000 Floridians who have died from the coronavirus, in large part because of irresponsible leadership.
They probably didn't come back to life. They shouldn't have died in the first place, either. pic.twitter.com/NoXVBTjOP7

At least you're not taking the low road on the tragedy.

Curious. Which other states would you classify as having irresponsible leadership? Also, what are the things that you think should have been done differently? If the Governor acted irresponsibly, what specifically were those irresponsible acts? Were they different from others

So what about all the super locked down states with more deaths?
Florida has exhibited the best leadership in the country through this, only South Dakota comes close.

Florida is 20th in deaths/million, behind some states you probably have a favorable view on.

How is New York doing? How many lives could have been saved if the leadership there didn’t force COVID positive patients into LTC facilities at the start of this?

Yes, Cuomo did a bang up job, cleared out the nursing homes too. 20k for Florida, how many in New York?

Did the 36,000 who died under Emperor Cuomo in New York come back to life? https://t.co/4uUK2KxzpE

What a horrible person you are. Look at numbers in locked down states.

What’s the death count in NY – a place with fewer citizens and harsher lock down laws?
Guess those facts don’t fit your narrative— TruthHurts (@NotVeryPCofMe) December 22, 2020
Dude, just give it up. The stats just don't pan out. Michigan shut it all down and still had higher per capita deaths despite Florida having a much larger elderly population and higher population density.

You certainly got the yahoo part right.

If you don’t like how it’s done in Florida, you can always dress up as the Grim Reaper and harass people on the beach to get it out of your system.
