Back in July, President Trump announced he was nominating former press secretary Sean Spicer to the U.S. Naval Academy’s Board of Visitors. “The board reviews the state of morale and discipline at the academy and its curriculum and fiscal affairs,” reports the Associated Press.
You’d think the Navy Times would be a bit more subdued in its coverage, but they just couldn’t pass up the chance to troll the “Dancing with the Stars” alumnus.

Ouch. At least the Navy Times reported that Spicer is a Navy reservist and holds a master’s degree from the Naval War College in Rhode Island. Not to mention that he lasted pretty long on “Dancing with the Stars” — maybe he can use that experience to help morale.
Ahahahahahahahahahaha. Nicely played.

Advising on wardrobe suggesting colorful pirate blouses obviously. ?

New Naval Academy uniform would be my first guess. Something a little more flashy for the dance floor.
— Robert (@Begizko) December 2, 2019
So now the navy uniform will have ruffled shirts, with puff sleeves? Next they will all be wearing eye patches. ?

Maybe he’s designing their new uniforms.

That's gonna be one heck of a new dress uniform for the cadets. pic.twitter.com/S5ZwFvGj9q

Not gonna lie, that shirt would like really nice with some old school Navy bell bottoms…
— Laura Hawk (@LauraSaysNada) December 2, 2019
I had a pair of purple elephant bell bottoms back in the day that would have made that shirt!

It looks like seamen and Sean Spicer are a good mix.
— BorninAngola (@AngolaBornin) December 2, 2019
That’s “Commander Spicer” to whatever ensign wrote this. (Other than that detail, I don’t really care.)

Great job, social media human. A+ post. Snarky and wonderful.

I can't think of a reason why you're going political and negative. Is this really the image you want to portray?
— Dee Jay Gude (@deejaygude) December 3, 2019
The article itself is plain vanilla. But that headline and accompanying picture . . .
— dpjones61 (@dpjones61) December 3, 2019
The Navy times throwing shade. That seems to tell you something about the current state of affairs.
— Davethemailman (@PostalDave4511) December 3, 2019
For what it’s worth, the board he sits on “reviews the state of morale and discipline at the academy and its curriculum and fiscal affairs,” so we don’t think the dress code will change.
