Kamala Harris thought she’d take the fight at Thursday night’s Democratic debate straight to the president by addressing him in her opening statement, saying, “I know you’re watching.”

Senator Kamala Harris speaks directly to the camera with a message for trump, telling him that his lies and divisiveness will NOT work for America.
And then she tells him to go back to watching Fox News. MIC DROP.#DemDebate pic.twitter.com/yTmKjACM49

Kamala Harris is using her opening statement to try to incite Donald Trump into rage-tweeting and giving away that he's watching. #DemocraticDebate #DemDebate

Um, no. The president was in Baltimore giving a speech at the 2019 House Republican Conference Member Retreat Dinner.

Kamala Harris addresses her opening remarks to "Donald Trump, who we all know is watching," although in actuality he's giving a speech elsewhere at the moment

Kamala Harris says "We all know [Trump] is watching." Not to "well actually," but the president is speaking to House Republicans in Baltimore right now pic.twitter.com/QUYzKmPU97

Kamala Harris spent her opening minute talking to Trump who she declared would be watching the debate.
Trump is in Baltimore tonight giving a speech at this very moment.
It's not a huge deal, but it just further shows why Harris' carefully scripted lines are so bad.

Harris directs her opening statement at Trump – who she says is surely watching at home. He's talking in Baltimore right now.

“Donald Trump, I know you’re watching,” Harris says.
No, he isn’t. He’s literally giving a speech at the Republican National Retreat (see top right) right now. #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/QfpKizWE3I— Yuichiro Kakutani (@yuichikakutani) September 13, 2019
@KamalaHarris says we know Donald Trump is watching. The WH pool report says he took the stage at the House Republican dinner (starting his remarks about an hour late.) Harris got a BIG ovation tho

Kamala Harris, “Donald Trump is watching.” Uhhhhh….https://t.co/gmrC8PHADp

In other words, it was a lie, but a lie that the Democrats in the debate audience really liked.
