On Friday, President Trump told POLITICO that he thought, yes, it would be “appropriate” for him to consult with Attorney General William Barr about the possibility of investigating the Joe Biden campaign over Biden’s connections to Ukraine. Rudy Giuliani stoked the fires when he said he be traveling to Ukraine “to urge the incoming government there to look at Hunter Biden’s involvement with a Ukrainian energy company that has reportedly been in prosecutors’ crosshairs.”
“Certainly it would be an appropriate thing to speak to him about, but I have not done that as of yet. … It could be a very big situation,” Trump told @POLITICO on Friday. W/ @elianayjohnson @AndrewRestuccia & @dlippman https://t.co/iuqtobsftn

This idea of an incumbent president launching an investigation into an opponent’s campaign was abhorrent to CNN legal analyst Susan Hennesy.
This is a disturbing development people should pay attention to: The president of the United States suggesting that he might speak directly to the Attorney General about finding a way to investigate the current Democratic frontrunner. https://t.co/fpazIIlc01

Hmm … does she see the irony yet? The answer is a definitive no.
Does anyone really doubt that Trump would love to have the FBI investigating his opponent during the campaign? Does anyone doubt that he would abuse his office in attempting to initiate or direct such an investigation?
— Susan Hennessey (@Susan_Hennessey) May 11, 2019
Still doesn’t see it.
Does anyone doubt that this could have catastrophic consequences for democratic and electoral legitimacy? Yet we seem to be hurtling towards this possibility with no one, certainly not congressional Republicans, drawing the line.

Oh dear, how could we be sure an election was legitimate after that? Trump might as well embed a spy into the Biden campaign.
Hahahaha. This is sarcasm right?

The left only cares about an independent DOJ when they think they aren't the ones being favored.

Where’s the problem?!
Sincerely…
Cheers

Why would that surprise you at this point? You insist on pretending that there is still an Independent DOJ, when they continue to prove that there is not.

OMG! You mean someone from your side of the political aisle might be held accountable for once? THE HORROR!
— Physics Geek (@physicsgeek) May 11, 2019
Maybe they should just spy on him like they did President Trump.
— Pat Crum (@PatBrave1) May 11, 2019
Why? I’d been assured just this week by @Comey that this kind of thing is perfectly normal

It’s like someone pulled a Rip van Winkle and just woke up to what’s been going on the last few years. . . You do realize part of this, and the fact you know, is him messing with you, right? It’s for you to be horrified by what you’ve conveniently ignored with the Obama Admin. https://t.co/EFNWNaMcuk

Trump truly is the troll master.. pic.twitter.com/9DgJouMoTl
— ??John ?? (@DaBearsk35) May 11, 2019
He’s not going to do that. He’s just winding you up again. @RudyGiuliani already put he spotlight on Biden. And Biden’s long history of flip flopping will end him. Trump is going to win again. It’s self-evident
— Last Man Standing (@lssown_lss) May 11, 2019
Total Rudy trolling! So obvious.
— Sez Sherry (@SezSherry) May 11, 2019
Then why are people like Hennessey so “disturbed”?
We know Biden got a prosecutor in Ukraine investigating his son fired, and we know Biden’s son’s company got a $1.5 Billion dollar “venture capital” from Chinese banks a week after state visit. Sounds like possible collusion. Perfectly normal to start placing CI’s now per Comey!
— Lance Nichols (@lance_nichols) May 11, 2019
And that's just scratching the surface
— jeffrey rader (@HvacmogulRader) May 11, 2019
Actually what is disturbing is that it hasn’t objectively been looked into already. Don’t get it twisted lady.
