As Twitchy reported Tuesday evening, a student opened fire in a classroom at the University of North Carolina’s Charlotte campus, killing two students and injuring four others as they were giving their final presentations.
We haven’t publicized the name or photo of the alleged gunman, but we’re honored to name one of the victims who sacrificed his life in an attempt to stop the shooter.

Chief Putney says the first and foremost hero is Riley Howell. Putney says Howell having no place to run or hide, fought the assailant. Without his work, the suspect may not have been disarmed.

We can’t help but seethe at the thought of the school resource officer assigned to protect the student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland who hid outside the school building while the shooting was going on, while this student rushed the gunman to help save lives.
