Not cool: Heather Heyer's mother wasn't told Joe Biden was going to feature her daughter in launch video

It’s really amazing how poorly Joe Biden’s official campaign launch has gone today. We mean, really, really badly.

As Seth Mandel points out, Barack Obama neglected to endorse Biden, but celebrity porn lawyer Michael Avenatti did. The progressive Justice Democrats had a tweet ready to go highlighting his voting record. Anita Hill is not impressed that Biden waited until this month to call her to express his regrets over the Clarence Thomas hearings, and now we’re learning that the family of Heather Heyer, the counter-protester killed in Charlottesville, wasn’t told she was going to be the centerpiece of Biden’s roll-out video. Oops.

Seriously? It never occurred to anyone on the campaign to check with Heyer’s family before using her in a campaign ad?

He didn’t need to get permission to exploit her death for his campaign launch, but would it have been too much to ask to give her family even a heads up? Or did it just never connect in his mind that these are real people and not political props?
