TMZ: Check out who texted Kim Foxx with 'concerns' about the Jussie Smollett investigation

Everyone is asking a big collective “Why?” today after news broke that all charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett had been dropped, with State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, who had recused herself from the case, announcing that surrender of his $10,000 bond and 16 hours of community service was a just resolution to the case.

Now TMZ is reporting that leaked emails and texts show allies of Smollett asking Foxx to intervene on his behalf.

TMZ reports:

Texts and emails between State Attorney Kim Foxx and two Jussie allies — one of which is reported to be a family member of his — have been leaked, and they show that Foxx was asked to intervene in the case a few days after he’d reported the alleged attack to Chicago PD. It appears that she did exactly that … and kept Jussie’s camp in the loop.

The initial correspondence started when Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff, Tina Tchen, emailed Foxx to say that she was reaching out on behalf of Jussie’s family to express “concerns” they had with how the investigation at that point was being handled.

Jussie had not been charged with a crime yet, but it’s believed Chicago PD was already doubting his story and leaking info to the press pushing that narrative.

Later, Foxx recused herself from the case when Jussie became a suspect.

Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff and a one-time assistant to former President Barack Obama, huh?

“They have concerns about the investigation” — and it’s pretty clear what those concerns were.

It is kind of weird of Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris and Kim Foxx and Jussie Smollett all seemed to be buds. Chicago’s a small town, really.
