We could make fun of Chris Cillizza’s analysis posts every day, so it takes something special for us to actually write up a post. According to Cillizza’s expert analysis, the backlash against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has begun:

Ya think?
“Backlash begins” Begins?!?? Whether you support @AOC or not I think everyone can agree the backlash didn’t just start…
My god how does Cillizza keep doing this?
Does he not have an editor? Does anyone else check his headlines and columns? https://t.co/xidDaQfj8p
— Yashar Ali ? (@yashar) March 5, 2019
maybe his editor is @chucktodd.

I'm afraid to read this. Is it merely bad or Cillizza bad?
— Andy Farquhar (@andy_farquhar) March 5, 2019
Things don't exist until Cillizza acknowledges them

Phew, was really waiting for someone to report on this very secret, very unexpected, very new thing. Thanks, dude.

TFW you find a forgotten email in your drafts folder, and you decide to send it anyway hoping no one notices you wrote it months ago.

When I try to sneak in my homework assignment from 6 months ago, maybe the teacher won’t notice and still grade it ?

Next week: "Backlash Against the Iraq War Begins" by Chris Cillizza, who is really on top of things.
— Will (@RealWSchuster) March 5, 2019
Oh, are they rebooting the franchise already? I don't think we need another origin story.
— Alexandra Erin (@alexandraerin) March 5, 2019
If Cillizza told me today was Tuesday, I would go look for another source.

In fairness to Cillizza, he works for @CNN and this may actually be the first time they’ve noticed anything bad being said about their Party member.

It's not called "backlash" if you point out that someone has a "plan" that costs tens of trillions of dollars without any hope to pay for it.
— Best girl Tsukky (@bestgirltsukky) March 5, 2019
Right, she opened that mouth on the first day surprising a lot of people with her outlandish socialist nonsense inaccuracies & just plain idiocy
— Er Lowe (@erok741) March 5, 2019
You have obviously been absent from the beginning. It began before she was even elected. How anyone, in her district who voted her in didn't see her ignorance coming a mile away is appalling.
— MaryMaryQ Contrary (@SnowmaidenSkadi) March 5, 2019
Please, this woman is out of central casting! Her ridiculous ideas make her a lightening rod, nothing more than that.
— Audrey Alex (@aalex2) March 5, 2019
AOC criticism comes because there are so many REAL legitimate things to criticize and I don’t mean just minor nonsense like errant tweets. I’m talking about being congresswoman for 2 months and she’s already accused of money laundering, campaign finance impropriety & corruption

We should be able to sue over the use of “analysis” in the headline.

— Eric Kleefeld (@EricKleefeld) March 5, 2019
I think the issue is that people are now starting to complain loudly about the backlash against AOC, thus getting attention and tweets. For him, it IS just starting.
To be fair, it never would have been an issue if it wasn’t for all the rapturous squeeing over her nomination.
— Stephen Carlson (@swcarlson1) March 5, 2019
To be fair …
to be fair, he's focusing more on the backlash from *Democrats* which took a little while to get going
— Jeryl Bier (@JerylBier) March 5, 2019
Everyone's talking about how the right's out to get her, but let's not kid ourselves, moderate Dems don't like @AOC any better. To them, she's a constant reminder that the party is no longer their party. It's moved far more left in their lifetimes than they ever thought possible.
— Chris Beffa (@chrisbeffa) March 5, 2019
"My main gripe about AOC is that while I respect her voice in the party, I don't think she respects mine or anyone else's who differs with her on policy or comes from a different political electoral reality." Bingo. Bernie Sanders has created a monster.
— Elect More Democrats (@ElectMoreDems) March 5, 2019
With the media’s help, of course.
