'A spectacle designed to end your gun rights': A year later, Chris Loesch reflects on CNN's Parkland town hall

The mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., happened on Valentine’s Day last year, and it took CNN only one week to put together a show trial — sorry, town hall — at which both students and (the now suspended) Sheriff Scott Israel could take free shots at Sen. Marco Rubio and Dana Loesch.

We won’t even take the space here to list the many, many factors that were uncovered after CNN aired its town hall; maybe just one more mention of the school resource officer who hid in a stairwell while the shots were being fired, or the sheriff’s deputies who were told to stage outside the school behind their patrol cars instead of engaging the shooter or trying to rescue the injured.

Parkland was a tragedy, but CNN’s town hall was a travesty, and Chris Loesch hasn’t forgotten.

He knew what CNN didn’t in its rush to put survivors on the air.

Hey CNN, when’s the follow-up town hall with Sheriff Israel now that we know what actually went down that day?
