Report: Man from migrant caravan crosses border illegally, climbs tree, lights it on fire

We don’t doubt that U.S. Customs and Border Protection is telling the truth here, because we’ve seen some pretty weird things come through their Twitter feed, and this wouldn’t even rank that highly.

Now this is in Arizona, and yet the man claimed to part of one of the migrant caravans — someone should alert CNN’s Brian Stelter, since he wrote off the mess at the San Ysidro border crossing because the southern border is, like, really, really long and, like so many leftist protests, mostly peaceful. It didn’t seem to occur to him that Border Patrol agents are responsible for securing the whole thing.

He was just throwing rocks at border agents and the helicopter because he wants to become a legal American citizen so damn bad. No, he was just seeking asylum like all the others.

According to USCBP, there’s more to the story:

The subject eventually came down from the tree and was taken into custody. He was determined to be a 31-year-old Honduran national illegally in the U.S. The subject told arresting agents that he had been part of one of the migrant caravans that had been covered by the media in Mexico recently. He was transported to the Yuma Central Processing Center. The Winterhaven Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

During processing, the subject was found to have several previous arrests in Florida as well as a previous deportation from the U.S. on June 4, 2018. The subject is being presented for prosecution and removal proceedings.

Several previous arrests in Florida and a previous deportation just this summer. We’d be curious to know what the arrests were for — we were assured there were no criminals among the migrants in the caravan the second President Trump tweeted that there were.

Remember, CNN’s Bill Weir told us they were just coming here to pick vegetables and clean hotel room toilets — as Conan O’Brien said, they’re just coming to do the jobs Americans won’t do. Like throwing rocks.
