If you watched the Senate’s confirmation vote on Brett Kavanaugh Saturday afternoon, surely you heard the relentless screaming of protesters being pulled from the gallery as they tried to stop the roll-call vote — and what’s scary is how many women on social media are admitting that they were screaming too: at home, in the car, wherever.
Frankly, we’d call the whole confirmation process after Sen. Dianne Feinstein chucked that Hail Mary a circus, but Kirsten Powers was here Friday to remind Sen. Susan Collins and the rest of us that that so-called circus was women protesting.
Just so nobody is confused here—the “circus” Collins and her conservative allies are complaining about are women protesting. This is what offends their sensibilities.

So she's… sexist? Please explain.
— Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) October 6, 2018
You think those women are behaving in a non-circus fashion? They are actually an embarrassment. Innocent until proven guilty IS actually a 'thing' in this country. One we should ALL stand by.
— Kimberly Morin (@Conservativeind) October 6, 2018
It is a “circus” to withhold an allegation until just enough time to destroy and humiliate two people (and their families) and then tsk tsk that the matter hasn’t been investigated sufficiently.
— Donna Carol Voss (@donnacarolvoss) October 6, 2018
Oh come on, Kristen. The circus involved a last minute hit job by Dem Senators, bringing forward a completely unsubstantiated allegation, followed by more ridiculous claims from others, including #CreepyPornLawyer. Piled on by an army of paid protestors. #yawn

Wrong. The circus was Spartacus and company.
— Monica (@MonicaCassier) October 6, 2018
The circus was created by Dems to bully republicans and to delay the confirmation as a political tactic. Sit down.

Collins has faced nonstop threats and intimidation for weeks, but sure, let’s go with this. Girl power! https://t.co/y881fJMOjJ

There are literally crazy people outside her house. Where she sleeps (or tries to sleep).
This is not normal.
— Some random thoughts (@someideasnstuff) October 6, 2018
Nevertheless, she persisted.
— Mike Smith (@nyyb4life) October 6, 2018
@KirstenPowers Senator Susan Collins is the real hero of the #metoo movement. Her courage to give that speech and vote after what her and her staff have had to go through was vile. Screaming at people in hallways serves no purpose. She will not be intimidated.
— MsZuccarello (@CarmiOnTheVerge) October 6, 2018
This is the women’s movement in a nutshell. No support if you don’t agree with them…in fact they go after you with full vengeance!
— nancy (@gatesofgreece) October 6, 2018
Let's face it. The only women that liberals think should be supported and believed are LIBERAL women; conservative women be damned. As far as liberals are concerned, they have no integrity or validity.

She has demonstrated tremendous leadership and modeled what is best about our country. Role model for both women and men
— Rob McIntosh (@RobMcIntosh63) October 6, 2018
There's a huge difference between protest and throwing a tantrum, which is what has been happening and what went on in the gallery of the Senate today.
— Ed DePriest (@EdDePriest) October 6, 2018
@KirstenPowers My sensibilities are offended by "women protesting" as you call it or shrieking, harassing, threatening to confront other women wherever they go. Peaceful protesting is our right but this is more like mob rule.
— Dovey Q. (@Dovey_Q1) October 6, 2018
It’s a little more than just protesting.

Kristen is so wound up on this she’s lost any objectivity on this. It’s all emotion.
— Michael Langwiser (@Miklang) October 6, 2018
What happened to @KirstenPowers ? She used to be reasonable? I always appreciated her point of view though I mostly disagreed. She has lost any sense of fairness she once had.
— erica (@Erica__LK) October 6, 2018
Yea I don’t know what happened to @KirstenPowers it’s amazing. Was she ever herself on Fox. She used to seem measured reasonable and fair and acted like she might entertain a different opinion.
— Zac Brown (@zacbrown13) October 6, 2018
@KirstenPowers is a shell of her old self. Used to be a thoughtful liberal. Now simply a part of an hysterical resistance tribe created through the CNN culture. Can simply not take anything she says seriously.
