Tweets from 2017: Women allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia soon per royal decree

Uh-oh … it looks like Saudi Arabia might have taken away one of our favorite talking points about Women’s March organizer Linda Sarsour.

Once the Women’s March made her famous, people began digging through Sarsour’s tweets and found not only the one about taking away Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s vagina but this gem praising Saudi Arabia’s policy on family leave. It seems women have it so much better there:

Yes, but what about women driving? Wait … they can? It appears things have changed, thanks to a new royal decree. Wow; now there’s nothing women can’t do in Saudi Arabia. Time for Sarsour to move to a more woman-friendly nation?

CNN’s Jake Tapper noted the year on his tweet for when future generations search through his Twitter feed for historical research.

Yes, but paid family leave! What about the fear, though, that allowing women in the kingdom to drive will open up options for them to have premarital sex?
