Los Angeles Times goes all-in on connecting Trump, #Harvey, and global climate change

We’d guess the Los Angeles Times covers the weather, but at this point we’d look to just about any other source to predict tomorrow’s temperature. This gem comes courtesy of the Times editorial board.

They write:

If Trump himself were to consult the experts — such as, you know, climate scientists — he would learn that global warming is real. He’d also learn that although warming did not cause Hurricane Harvey, it certainly makes such storms stronger, more unpredictable and quicker to intensify. Experts — there’s that word again — say that warmer air temperatures mean more evaporation of moisture from the seas to the skies, and thus more rainfall from storms.

Whoa, hold up — “it certainly makes such storms stronger, more unpredictable and quicker to intensify”? What happened to “more often”? Didn’t expert climate scientists — such as, you know, Al Gore — predict that hurricanes would greatly increase in frequency too?

And how do the “climate experts” on the Times editorial board account for even stronger and more unpredictable storms that occurred before Al Gore completed work on his 10,000-square-foot estate outside of Nashville?
