Actress Debra Messing was super-jazzed this April to be participating in the “Tax March” protest intended to pressure President Trump to release his tax returns. Certainly plenty of participants in the march were eager to learn if rich guy Trump had paid his fair share (which, if Rachel Maddow’s big scoop was any indication, he had).
Messing threw Twitter quite a curve Wednesday night, then, when she linked to a piece in The Intercept detailing Steve Bannon’s push for a new 44 percent top marginal tax rate on people who earn more than $5 million a year. The current top rate is 39.6 percent.
