It was Friday when ABC News chief political analyst Matthew Dowd declared it time for America to switch to a singer payer health care system.
It is time in our country that leaders on both sides consider a single payer fix to healthcare. The system we have now is a mess.
— Matthew Dowd (@matthewjdowd) May 5, 2017
However, it wasn’t until the online conversation took a few turns that Dowd dropped this stunning fact: people in the Veterans Administration system are happier with their care than are people in private health care.
Again, people in medicare and at VA are much happier with their care and cost than people in private healthcare. Facts.

Really? You're using Medicare and the VA as benchmarks.

This has got to be the dumbest thing I've read in months
— Taryn (@TarynOnthenews) May 7, 2017
My god..that has to be dumbest tweet I've seen all year
— #triceps coleman (@bric882009) May 7, 2017
This would be much funnier if I didn't know so many people who've had to deal with the VA healthcare system. https://t.co/Lg0cE4rurU

You obviously have no clue as to the subject you are writing about. It's small wonder so many people have abandoned legacy media.

He said, “Facts.”
Adding facts to end of a statement of opinion doesn't make it a fact.
— Gary Carlo (@GaryACarlo) May 7, 2017
Facts aren't so just because YOU say so. This is a damn lie. You don't know how veterans feel about the VA at all with this lie.
— Mrs_Pinky Thoughts ??? (@mrs_pinky85) May 7, 2017
You truly can't be serious. They are doing two things: Getting vets addicted to opioids and sticking them on waiting lists till they die.
— Balance (@Balance_In_Life) May 7, 2017
So what you're trying to tell us is that you don't actually know any vets or old people.

Okay, I'm not happier with the V.A. at all.
Sometimes takes FOREVER to get an appointment.

Happier my ass. I wait 13 months for deviated septum surgery from the VA. Think it would have been that long in the pvt system?
— Louie's Dad (@VRKyle) May 7, 2017
It took a year after leaving service to get initial screening. A YEAR. 6 mos to be screened to wrong clinic and 6 more to get right one.

You offer no source for your facts. Talk to some veterans for a change @matthewjdowd and you'll hear some horror stories.

Death lists aside, ever try to find a parking spot there? An hour later and you feel like your on a death list anyway.
