Could the resistance actually learn something from Hillary campaigner Miley Cyrus?

Hey, who wants to hear some thoughts on politics from Miley Cyrus?

Like fellow singer Katy Perry, Cyrus went knocking on dorm room doors to lure college students to the polls for Hillary, and also like Perry, Cyrus was visibly crushed to learn that her efforts weren’t enough to pull Clinton across the finish line.

In a recent interview with Billboard, though, Cyrus was surprisingly even-tempered about the current state of politics. Though she says her new album is political, she doesn’t want people smashing it in the streets like a Dixie Chicks record.

“I like the way I think right now. But don’t Trump supporters like the way they think? So I’ve also got to be open with the way I approach people with my opinions,” she said. “I know now the ways that don’t work. Because I went really hard during the election. But at the end of the day, we lost. We won, but because the system is fucked up, we lost.”

She might not have much respect for the Electoral College, but she does seem to understand that the choice of Democrats to obstruct at every turn isn’t winning any new members to their cause. Maybe talking to some Trump supporters would be a better approach?

Well, it was a thought. A Miley Cyrus thought, but a thought.
