CNN race shocker: There are several white men among Donald Trump's cabinet picks

CNN’s political team has made a shocking discovery: President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson to fill the post of secretary of state means that his top four most influential departments could be led by white men.

CNN’s politics feed even included a handy photo reference showing that most of Trump’s picks are, indeed, white … and don’t even get us started on CNN’s choice to say they “dominate” the top cabinet posts.

Here’s CNN’s official tally so far, although a handful of posts have yet to be filled:

Of Trump’s 17 choices to date — excluding his vice president and senior White House staff — 13 are white, of which 11 are male. None are Latino. By comparison, 11 of the corresponding positions in Obama’s first cabinet were white — with seven males and four females — along with a Latino labor secretary and three African-Americans, two of whom were women.

Wow, 13 whites, as compared to 11 filling corresponding positions in Obama’s cabinet. That’s really something.

Linda McMahon and Nikki Haley didn’t make the tweet, but they do rate a mention in the article, which also features a more complete version of the graphic. The big four positions, though — Treasury, Defense, secretary of state, and attorney general — are filled by white men; hence, their domination of the top cabinet posts.

Unfortunately, CNN’s article was cut off before the writers could make their point.
