As Twitchy reported in January 2015, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio defended his decision to issue identification cards to illegal aliens because it would help prevent New York’s non-citizens from feeling like second-class citizens. “We don’t want them to feel left out,” he said.

NBC New York is reporting that the city might destroy the data amid concerns it might put illegals at risk, possibly employing “a kind of self-destruct provision that allows for the information to be destroyed at the end of the year.”
