This black life mattered too: 19-year-old fatally shot at Stop the Violence party near Cleveland

Whatever you think of the movement, #BlackLivesMatter is an ingenious piece of branding. If you say that all lives matter, you’re missing the point of this specific movement, which is to highlight lethal violence against blacks by police. If you criticize the movement or its leadership or its tactics, though, the name suddenly assumes its literal meaning, and you risk being accused of claiming that black lives don’t matter.

So at the risk of falling into the latter category, it would be nice if someone would say something about a fatal shooting Sunday night in Euclid, Ohio, near Cleveland. Or are there only so many hashtags to go around?

Police say there were between 200 and  300 people at the resident-organized event held at Sims Park.

A 12-year-old was shot in the back at an anti-violence gathering? Really?
