When Twitchy most recently checked in with “Jackie,” the subject of Rolling Stone’s sensational (and debunked) feature, “A Rape on Campus,” there was serious suspicion that not only had Jackie created her fictional campus rapist, but that someone had been tinkering with Haven Monahan’s email account well into legal proceedings — despite the fact that alleged rapist Monahan doesn’t exist.

The Washington Examiner’s Ashe Schow reported Wednesday that Jackie’s legal team has essentially admitted that she made up her alleged rapist, after “unhinged” lawyers for Nicole Eramo, who heads the University of Virginia’s sexual misconduct board, risked “re-traumatizing” Jackie by dragging her fictional rapist into court in order to “harass and abuse” her.

Just because a rape didn't occur doesn't mean that a rape didn't occur…or something. Truth is a social construct anyway.

Schow reports that, yes, Jackie’s lawyers had been messing around with Monahan’s email account, obviously having retrieved the login information from their client, who created the fake email account as part of her hoax.
Jackie’s lawyers, in new court documents filed Tuesday, acknowledged that they had accessed an email account connected to the fake rapist in mid-March. The email account for “Haven Monahan,” the name Jackie gave as her alleged rapist, had been created days after the alleged gang-rape had occurred and a day before the email account sent a love letter to a young man whom Jackie had a crush on.
Jackie’s lawyers previously had sent a letter to Eramo’s attorneys insisting that “Jackie was not in possession” of requested emails — four days after they were caught logging into the email address.
Jackie is not named as a defendant in the suit; Eramo is suing Rolling Stone for $7.85 million for portraying her as callous and indifferent to victims of sexual assault.
