Former Texas governor Rick Perry dropped out of his second run for the White House after just 100 days, and as CNN reported, took a “not-too-veiled swipe” at Donald Trump in the process, insisting that the eventual Republican nominee must “make the case for the cause of conservatism more than the cause of their own celebrity.”
One political advantage: Perry dropped out before Trump could assign him a demeaning nickname, so there’s no need to rebrand should Perry be tapped to serve as Trump’s running-mate, something he told CNN’s Dana Bash isn’t out of the question.

Yeah, yeah, some people said some things.
@DanaBashCNN “Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.”

@DanaBashCNN @realDonaldTrump @OutFrontCNN He's helping the "cancer on conservatism"?

The best thing about Trump running and winning is how many frauds he’s exposed in the process

@DanaBashCNN @davidfrum @realDonaldTrump @OutFrontCNN I don't recall Donald having a lot of positive things to say about old Rick

The Rodney Dangerfield position in the administration has been filled, thanks, but Mr. Trump’s will keep Perry’s application on file.
