Yes, leftist political group MoveOn.org is still around, pursuing its (revised) mission to “win progressive change.” Now that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has decided to bring her “secret weapon” with her on the campaign trail, it’s well worth remembering that the group was founded in 1998 for the purpose of fighting the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, gathering signatures to convince Congress to simply “censure President Clinton and move on.”
The group has shown that it can move on to other issues, but now its members are faced with endorsing a candidate. Planned Parenthood surprised no one today by endorsing Hillary Clinton, but the group founded to support Bill Clinton and that pushes the #StandWithPP hashtag now has a real-live socialist as an option.
