As Twitchy reported earlier tonight, Washington Post cartoonist Ann Telnaes decided to express her disgust with Sen. Ted Cruz using his children as political props by depicting the GOP candidate as an organ grinder and his children as dancing monkeys. “Ted Cruz has put his children in a political ad,” she had tweeted earlier, advising critics, “don’t start screaming when editorial cartoonists draw them as well.”

Drawing Cruz’s children at all would have been bad enough, but depicting them as monkeys?

Ted Cruz's girls are CHILDREN – @washingtonpost owe's his daughters an apology. They will grow up and see that crappy cartoon, trust me.

WaPo's @hiattf took the racist cartoon down. No apology to Cruz but semi-apology ("I understand") to the cartoonist! https://t.co/eq8KChrzq2

Hey @washingtonpost why don't you interview Bristol Palin for her thoughts on the media's alleged "hands off kids" policy?

But she’s an award-winning cartoonist!
Jerk/cartoonist Ann Telnaes won 2002 "Maggie Award" by Planned Parenthood for pro-abort art. No "props" left behind. https://t.co/7LybNlb1dx
