Gawker posted a piece Tuesday about what looks like a very cozy email relationship between Politico White House correspondent Mike Allen and Philippe Reines, who served as an aide to Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State. For example, when Allen “floated the idea of interviewing Clinton’s adult daughter, Chelsea,” he appeared to assure Reines that he would produce “totally positive coverage” of Chelsea Clinton.
American Commitment president Phil Kerpen did some digging of his own and seems to have uncovered a similar relationship between Reines and CNN’s Elise Labott — who was just suspended by the network over an opinionated tweet about the Statue of Liberty “bowing its head in anguish” over the House vote on Syrian refugees.

Clinton: I tried to be transparent. I could have joined the 18 ARBs, kept it classified and then said goodbye. That is not who I am.

Here, Reines suggests Labott “Tweet something like ‘Feb 1’ looking like Hillary’s last day.”

That is a sweet gig. Get paid by CNN to tweet what Hillary Clinton’s aide tells you to tweet.
@eliselabottcnn Coordinating your tweets with state dept officials? Nice "journalist" you have here, @CNN.

And one more must-read between Reines and Labott:
