Last night, students at the University of Michigan held a rally in solidarity with the students at the University of Missouri, noting almost in disbelief that students were able to force a university president out of his job. “This is power,” one proclaimed.
Today it was the Afrikan Student Union at UCLA, also known as the #BlackBruins, who coordinated a class walkout to show their solidarity with protesters at Mizzou.

At least one assistant professor of African-American studies spoke, noting that “as faculty, we’re subject to the same form of micro-aggressions” as the students.

Speaking of unapologetic, the walkout and rally ended on an adorable note, as a four-year-old led the crowd in a chant written by Assata Shakur, the cop-killer, prison escapee and fugitive who was recently honored with a mural at Marquette University.
