While fundraising in New York Monday night, President Obama decided to try out some new material provided by his writers in the mainstream media. While GOP candidates try to work out alternatives to avoid another debacle like the CNBC debate, the president joked that if the candidates can’t handle a panel of moderators, they won’t have much of a chance against the Russians or the Chinese.

Some think the candidates did more than handle the moderators; Sen. Ted Cruz practically manhandled the moderators and won cheers from the audience for doing so. Regardless, President Obama doesn’t seem to be doing much to worry the Russians, whether it’s drawing a red line at Ukraine’s border or politely clearing the skies over Syria to make room for dubious Russian airstrikes.
