Brittany “Bree” Newsome, the activist who scaled the flag pole in front of the South Carolina State House and pulled down the Confederate flag “in an act of public art,” took advantage of the publicity to introduce herself on Twitter, beginning by clearing up any confusion: “My name is Bree Newsome. You don’t know me.”
We’re beginning to get to know her, though, though cable news interviews and her own tweets and retweets. We’re also getting a sense of who she’s voting for, and we doubt it’s Gov. Bobby Jindal. Was it the debate? There was one line in particular that stood out.
