Reports: Gunman opens fire in Lafayette, La. movie theater; Shooter, 58, believed dead, multiple injuries reported; 3 dead, including shooter

Reuters and other news outlets are reporting Thursday night that a gunman opened fire inside a movie theater in Lafayette, La., and authorities have responded to reports of multiple injuries.

Gov. Bobby Jindal is currently on his way to Lafayette.

Early word is that six were injured and the shooter is dead.

Reports now say that there was an additional fatality besides the gunman, and up to eight were injured.
