Freedom-loving Americans find Cuban flag an offensive symbol, demand it be taken down

Does anyone else remember when South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley held a press conference to acknowledge that to many “the [Confederate] flag is a deeply offensive symbol of a brutally oppressive past” and argue that “the fact that it causes pain to so many is enough to move it”?

Remember when #BlackLivesMatter activist Bree Newsome scaled the flag pole and ripped down the offending flag herself, in an act that Time magazine called “an act of public art”?

Well, who will be the first to climb the flag pole in front of the new Cuban Embassy and tear down what is to many a deeply offensive symbol of a brutally oppressive “past”? Daniel Ferrrer, coordinator of the Patriotic Cuban Party, told the PanAm Post that more than 70 activists in Cuba were detained on Sunday, the day before the flag was raised. Cuban state police have been doing this for 14 consecutive Sundays, Ferrer says.

And what about the pain caused by Cuba’s harboring of terrorists, such as cop-killer Assata Shakur? It’s long past time for that flag to come down.

Will slobbering Cuba superfan Michael Moore again offer to pay the bail of the first person to tear down the flag? Bree?
